On these pages is a (somewhat outdated) selection of my work.
All of the photos on this site were taken by me and are mostly completely untouched, apart from cropping or rendering into black and white.
I love photography. I love the immediacy of it. I love the moments captured in an image: grief, joy, sorrow, surprise. Warmth and welcome, anger and violence. Photos only tell a part of the story, but a good photo will tell that story very well.
I love the responses beautiful photos bring for people. Good photos help people hold on to the things they might otherwise let slip away.
My gear. I used to have a stack of Nikon gear. I sold it all and bought a Leica M9 and two lenses: the 35 and the 90. An excellent photography decision.
The pictures and photos are displayed here in a reduced size; I can provide originals on request (most are ~8-10 MB in size).
Some other photos, on a professional photoblog are available on:

But I don’t update that site as often as I should.
All photos are copyrighted, and are available for purchase.
Drawings and doodling.
I am a bit of an artist (a little bit), and have just finished the illustrations and text for a kids book, which a publisher is looking at.
